It took September 1st for us to finally take a two day weekend and find a few hours to anchor and read a book or take a little nap, depending which one of us you ask. We saw our first flock of Canadian geese flying south, which we begged to go back home, and our first sailboat with its mast down also heading south. Fall is just around the corner, it's official, and we've completely missed out on summer.
A few boats are already hauled out for the winter and neighbors are putting their sails away. Water levels are too low for a lot of the boats with longer keel and they have to come out now or risk spending the winter in the water. The channel to the marina is showing about 4 feet of water... maybe it's time to start lighting candles for some heavy rain.
